A catch once wild and free, culled fatefully, finally, crept up behind angry, wasted, fragile habitat left hungry. Waste disposal plastic, Armageddon’s Moon- still full. Ocean fills all space across the globe, without trace of Life once bestowed. Legacy of man’s deceit, leaving one hollow receipt: A chaos, now beyond reproach from earth’s defeat. All the rest of time - Man’s currency - unknown by Earth’s design- rhymes no season’s change. Back, before the dawn of man: Collision forces Life: Eternal Truth. Universal Love: Permanent Rainbow. Peace I’m making up time because times been the cost. I entered a maze where then I got lost I’ve been forgiven with baptisms of fire the demons I painted made me aim higher I’ve wasted my time over many a year It’s a certain fate that I’m still living here I know for sure I was under a spell. That maybe so but It’s my fault as well I made my mistakes in the cold light of day Lord knows I made them with my dignity paid I hope in the future we all may say that Love conquers all for all come what may I’m starting afresh with a new point of view back to the start to be thankful and true to all of those who have been so kind when out of my depth going out of my mind I wish them well wherever they go and hope that they leave the same way so In all of our journeys I hope we may find Peace in our hearts and Peace with our minds.

Eternal Full Moon

‘Eternal Full Moon’ the painting was initially inspired by a poem called ‘Dolphin Moon’ written by Grant Aspinall in the 1980’s. The poem has since been set to music, narrated by John F B Tucker, and can be found on the album ‘Self-Portrait # 357’ on Compact Disc : ( all proceeds from which go to the Mental Health Foundation) and also on the Black Hole Myths album ‘Room 101’ which can be found on Grant’s website : grantaspinall.co.uk. Black Hole Myths are comprised of Grant Aspinall and John F B Tucker who work in collaboration in Cumbria. John contributed to the lyric of the song ‘Eternal Full Moon’ but it was largely about Grant’s eschatological vision of an apocalyptic earth. The moon is a recurring motif in Grant’s poetry and music and art.
