lyrics

Yesteryear

Open the door to yesteryear you all can see him standing there with his maiden oh so fair, her skin like silk so black her hair. They danced around the crowded bar to well played tunes on old guitars the drink flowed on into the night until the moon shone full and bright.
All could see their smiling faces and the Love of their embraces spinning round all in a daze, singing through the drunken haze.
Picture now though If you can, see this girl with this young man sitting in their wicker chairs in the home of vacant stares. Crystallised and frozen here yesteryear brings not a tear but their future left unsaid waits inside their comfy beds. Tightly folded linen white now reflects the moonlit night silence beckons through and through now they know not what they do.
Could this be me and was this you?
